Kabul to California: how the ‘hip-hop family’ mobilised for young Afghans

The universal language of artistic expression has saved the day. Until August 2021 Kabul's small but determined hip-hop community was dreaming of big things- including the 2024 Olympics. Now 20 of them, men, women & children, are seeking asylum so they can live freely and practise in safety.
